News and Updates!
8/25/08:
I'm in Maine!! Mommy says she's been coming here for 30 years, but I've only been here two years. Three if you count when I was in Mommy's belly. It's fun here. I went to the BIGGEST pool I've ever seen with Nana, Preslee, Kenzie and Mommy. They call it the ocean but I call it "a pool!" and brrrrr it's cold! I started shivering pretty quickly so we didn't stay in too long. Daddy caught a big fish yesterday and Mommy says we'll eat it for dinner tonight. Yum! Nana bought me some really good ice cream and I'm getting pushed in the stroller all over the place. Nana and Mommy say their feet hurt. Everyone seems very very happy!

1/11/08:
Happy New Year! I didn't make it to midnight on New Year's but I tried. maybe next year. I'm turning into such a big boy - I'm walking and talking a lot - even though Mommy and Daddy can't understand me. I figured out if I point at things that means I want them....so we're learning to communicate!! Mommy and Daddy are smart, they'll learn baby talk soon I'm sure.
2/16/08:
I learned how to hug - Mommy almost cried when I hugged her. I'm not sure why - she hugs me all the time. I've been pretty miserable lately - I'm cutting 5 teeth all at once!! The only thing that makes me feel better is if Daddy holds me on the couch all night. Daddy doesn't sleep, but I do! I have two molars half-way in, and another front tooth in and two molars trying to pop through. When this is all done I'll have 12 teeth! I've learned how to climb on things now - Mommy yells when I crawl onto the coffee table - but I just laugh at her. She's funny.
3/16/08:
Uncle Bobby and Aunt Maddie got married! I wore my tuxedo and went to the wedding. I was real quiet at the church and I got to eat crackers and juice and meet all kinds of new people at the cocktail hour. I have a lot of family all over the country that I never knew before. Uncle Bobby was really smiley and Aunt Maddie looked beautiful in her long dress.
I learned how to sign back at Mommy and Daddy! They've been doing signs with me since I was 6 months old and I finally figured out how to do them back. I know Please, More, Cookie, All Finished, Bye Bye and I can blow kisses really well! The big boys on the street have been letting me play hockey with them outside too - Daddy even cut a real hockey stick down to my size so I can play. Mommy put up some video of me playing on You Tube. (search for RJ, hockey and big boys)
4/24/08:
It's springtime and we've been spending a lot of time outside, which I love, but the ground outside is a lot harder and rougher, so I have lots more scrapes from tripping over my feet. THe big boys, Jo-Jo especially, let me play hockey with them and I get really mad at Mommy and Daddy when they try to make me come inside. Mommy put some videos of me up on Youtube - search for chelle828 and you'll find them. Daddy got me a bike! It's a tricycle that will grow with me until I'm 3. My helmet is already for a 3 year old though becuase I have a big head and couldn't get the 1 year old helmet on my head. I got knee pads and elbow pads too. I look cool, especially with the Sesame Street guys on the helmet!
Pop-Pop is sick, so Mommy and Daddy have been spending more time with him and Mom-Mom in the doctor's offices. Mommy says he's going to get a lot more sick before he gets better, but that he will be good as new in a while. that's good! I love my Pop-Pop!!
5/16/08:
Mommy and Daddy took me to visit the nice doctors and nurses at the hospital the other day. It was ok, but I wasn't feeling very well and was having trouble breathing. They gave me some medicine that made me breathe better, but I really didn't like it. I got to go home with some yummy medicine that I get twice a day from Mommy or Daddy though. They say I might have something called azma. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't sound good. At least I won't be alone - Mommy has it too.
6/23/08:
I'm breathing much easier these days. They've been making me do lots of treatments, but I'm a really good boy with them - Daddy lets me watch Teletubbies when I get them - and I get a cookie when I'm done. Mommy took me to the pool today - she says I was there last year, but I don't remember. I wasn't sure about getting in, but after I saw all the fun Mommy was having splashing around I couldn't resist. It's lots of fun to run into the water and splash. They have a pool that only comes up to my thighs so I don't have to be scared. They have a big waterslide too - Preslee takes me to the top and lets me go and Mommy catches me at the bottom. It's a little scary, especially going underwater at the end, but Mommy always catches me and brings me up right away - besides, it's fun!!
7/10/08:
I went to see Fireworks!! At first they scared me a little - but then Mommy covered my ears and I was ok - they were really pretty! It was raining and gross outside so it wasn't too much fun, but I can't wait to see them next year. By then I'll be able to hold my own ears shut! I got my last baby tooth in for a while - Mommy says I shouldn't get any more until I'm closer to 4 - thank goodness!! My booboos are healing up and Mommy even got a cream to put on them that will make the scars go away. I'm learning a lot of new words - this week I'm saying book, and asking to go in the pool. Mommy and Daddy are really proud. Nana's in some place called France, but I can't wait to show her my new words - and I'll see MomMom and PopPop this weekend for PopPop's birthday so I'll show them then. Mommy says we might see Grandpop tomorrow. I haven't seen Uncle Bobby or Aunt Maddie in a long time - they wouldn't know me, I'm such a big boy now!! Daddy got new glasses tonight and they had little kid glasses so I got to try some on - Mommy put pictures on my Pictures of Me page so check them out, ok??
7/24/08:
Mommy took me to see my favorite band, Chico's Vibe tonight! I see Dennis every Monday at pasta night and he sings the RJ song, but he even had the whole band do it for me tonight in front of everyone!! I danced and clapped!! Mommy put some pictures of me dancing on the My Events page...I can cut a rug!
8/13/08:
Mommy, Daddy and I went to Wildwood with MomMom, PopPop, Preslee, Aunt Kim, Alex, Anthony, Aunt Helene, Aunt Joanne and Uncle Ronnie - it was fun!! I got to go on the rides this year - I was too little last year for everything but the carousel. It was a fun trip!! I scared Mommy and Daddy by climbing out of my pack and play in the morning and waking them up by turning on and off the TV. Hee.
PopPop had a big operation on Monday - Mommy and Daddy say he's doing really well, but I'm still worried about him. I love my PopPop. I hope he's better soon so I can see him. I'm too little to go to the hospital to visit him. They say I'll get to see him when we come home from Maine in a few weeks.
